When you spend time in a wheelchair, then an only then, do you know how  hard it is getting around. Try just going into a store or home that is not set up for a wheelchair and you'll see.  Just a 1 inch difference in a doorway or step can hold you up, especially, if the door opens in the wrong direction. These are just some of the things handicapped people have to deal with.

We would like to help out where the insurance stops. We can help by getting the door the right size, fixing the step, putting in a ramp, and placing pull bars in a tub. There are companies out there that can help too, but if the money is not there, and if your insurance odes not pay, then people can get in touch with us. That is where we help make things better. We step in when the insurance steps out!

There is a way to help others and it should not matter what age or color they are as long as you put your hand out to help. People should be able to go outside any time they like. Not having the money to pay for a ramp, or have a door widened should not keep you from having fun with your family, or friends. We would like to change that. With your help we all can help. Help us to change the world.

The Process:

After contacting The Wheeled Scotsman Foundation, contractors are sent out to the house to write up an estimate of cost, permits, etc. When the funds are available, a contractor is picked. We will work with the family to determine an acceptable starting date. After your insurance pays what they can, we will help to pay the rest. Our company will help out with: widening doors, pull bars, ramps, fixing vans and lifts, and installing pool lifts. (Joe strongly believes that everyone should enjoy a refreshing pool on a hot summer day and not just watch from the side!)

After the work is completed, The Wheeled Scotsman Foundation will contact the family to make sure that everyone is satisfied and to see if there is anything else that we can consider doing to help out.
